Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026 · Applies to Flux and all its features
1. Who We Are
Flux is a browser game portal created and operated by nxtcoreee3. Flux is hosted on GitHub Pages at nxtcoreee3.github.io/Flux. If you have any questions about this policy you can reach us via GitHub.
2. What Data We Collect
When you create a Flux profile, we collect and store the following in our database (Firebase Firestore):
- Your chosen username and display name
- Your profile bio (if provided)
- Your profile picture URL (from Google if you sign in with Google)
- Your favourited games and recently played games
- Your followers and following lists (user IDs)
- Your join date and privacy setting (public or private profile)
- Any roles or badges assigned to your account by admins
- Your chat messages sent in the Global Chat
3. Authentication Data (Firebase)
Flux uses Firebase Authentication by Google to handle sign-in. When you create an account, Firebase collects:
- Your email address (if using email/password sign-in)
- Your Google account info (if using Google sign-in: name, email, profile picture)
- Your IP address and basic device/browser information for security purposes
- Session tokens stored in your browser to keep you signed in
Firebase's own privacy policy applies to this data: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
4. Cookies & Local Storage
Flux uses cookies and browser local storage to:
- Keep you signed in between visits
- Remember your dark/light mode preference
- Store your recently played games locally
- Remember that you have accepted this privacy policy
- Remember that you have seen certain banners and notifications
These are essential cookies — Flux cannot function without them. By using Flux you consent to their use.
5. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide the Flux experience:
- Displaying your public profile to other users
- Enabling the follow system and social features
- Showing your favourited and recently played games on your profile
- Displaying your messages in the Global Chat
- Tracking daily visitor counts and online presence (anonymous)
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any commercial purpose.
6. Public vs Private Profiles
By default your profile is public — this means your username, display name, bio, favourited games, recently played games, follower count, and badges are visible to anyone. You can switch to a private profile in your profile settings, which hides your games and bio from non-followers.
Your chat messages are always public and visible to all users of the Global Chat.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Your profile data is stored in Firebase Firestore for as long as your account exists. You may request deletion of your account and all associated profile data at any time by contacting us via GitHub. Chat messages may be deleted by you or by an admin at any time.
8. Children's Privacy
Flux is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (including Sweden), you have the following rights under GDPR:
- Right to access — you can view all your profile data on your profile page
- Right to rectification — you can edit your profile at any time
- Right to erasure — you can request full account deletion
- Right to object — you can opt out of social features by not creating a profile
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, existing users will be notified and asked to re-accept. The latest version is always available on this page.
11. How Flux Works
Flux is a curated portal of links to web games. Each game is hosted on its own public GitHub Pages site. Flux acts as a directory and in-browser launcher — it does not host the games itself. Some sites prevent embedding via iframes for security reasons — when that happens Flux shows a fallback link to open the game in a new tab.
